Sensei John Hunt 8th. Dan

It is with a great deal of sadness that the BJJ New's writes to inform all of the readers of the death of Sensei John Hunt, John passed away on Monday 27th. June 2011 after battling cancer and being told during the earlier part of the year that it was under control, he was well enough to travel to Belgium in March to teach at Yoshimi Ju Jitsu International's annual seminar but after returning was given the news that the illness had returned.

John was a great martial artist beginning his career as a boxer which was soon followed by him taking up Karate. Shortly afterwards he starting to train in Judo with some of the Judo greats of those years. He began his Ju Jitsu training a short time later and became one of the most popular international coaches of his era, his manner, humour and charisma infected all that he met and he remained one of the most respected of teachers through his endless wisdom and knowledge. John was always his own man and this added to the respect that he achieved, he was a people person and was loved for his concern of others. Rest in Peace John.Iq
