Yoshimi Ju Jitsu International host thier 9th.UK International Seminar

Yoshimi Ju Jitsu International celebrated their 9th. UK Seminar in Rochester, Kent during the weekend of 7th. - 10th. October. 250 students came from many countries including Belgium, Hungary, Ireland, Norway, Sweden as well as Great Britain. The locations for this event were a little different from previous years as the accommodation was in the new Ramada hotel in Chatham's historic dockyard. The top picture shows Sensei Laszlo Laszar (Hungary) teaching on one of the mats during the training seminar.

The training lasted for 3 hours after which there was an international competition consisting of Sparring, Groundwork, Kata and Random Attacks with the medals being quite evenly spread throughout the participating countries. The Saturday evening arrangements were very special and the organisers had made dining arrangements with "Dickens World" an indoor theme park celebrating the life and times of Charles Dickens who was a resident of the area. The three course meal was followed by a disco and party which went on into the night and was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. The only official point made during the evening was the first toast proposed by Professor Roger Wilkes which was to "Yoshimi" (friendship) which was the theme throughout the weekend and the organisation. The seminars planned for next year so far are Belgium in March, Norway in May and Hungary in September so please make provision in your diary's for those months, more details will follow.
